President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Friday evening began an official visit to Cairo, the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and strategic cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
During his stay in Cairo, President Hassan Sheikh is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The talks will focus on deepening bilateral ties between the two governments and peoples, addressing regional issues, and discussing the role Somalia and Egypt can play in promoting stability, peace, and the security of key maritime trade routes vital to the region and the wider international community.
The President’s trip is part of a series of official working visits to several countries, aimed at reinforcing cooperation across various sectors, advancing Somalia’s national interests, and supporting efforts to safeguard the unity and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
