The First-Level Military Court of the Somali Armed Forces carried out a death sentence by firing squad today, Tuesday, on Abikadir Mohamed and Farxaan Maxamuud Abdinur Adan.

The two men had previously been sentenced to death by the military court after being found guilty of serious crimes, including killings in Mogadishu that resulted in the deaths of four civilians.

The execution was carried out after all legal procedures were completed, including the opportunity to appeal, but no evidence was presented that could overturn the verdict.

Officials from the military court confirmed that the men had been in custody for an extended period and that the court had previously established their involvement in the crimes, which ultimately led to the enforcement of the sentence.

Security officials stated that the execution is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain security in the capital and to hold accountable anyone who commits acts that threaten public peace and safety.
