Somalia’s President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Monday arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, at the head of an official delegation, where he received a warm welcome.
During his stay in Qatar, President Hassan Sheikh is expected to hold meetings with senior Qatari officials to discuss strengthening cooperation in the areas of security, economic development, and political relations.
A statement issued by the Office of the President said the visit forms part of a series of official working tours to several countries, aimed at reinforcing bilateral partnerships, advancing Somalia’s national interests, and supporting efforts to safeguard the unity and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
According to information obtained by Banaadir24.com, the Somali president is also expected to travel onward to Egypt, where he will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and other senior officials.
